High-rise building in Brno
Caha, Jakub ; Kotek, arch Jakub (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor)
In this study is designed high-rise object in Brno in the city part called Veveří. These propose is divided for two high-rise towers of hight 177 a 57 meters, which continue on next door high-rise building of office centre Šumavská. These objects are connected each other with glass neck. This high-rise building is designed like creative centre, which associate different kinds of art directions in one object, in combination with living and vertical gallery. In each storey is variable space for studios, workshops a offices, in undeground storey is designed parking. Main object si divided over to whole height with strips and windows, what supports verticality of this object. Second tower is designed like minimalistic soliter with perforated facade in gold color.
Dynamic analysis of structure with seismic loads
Šnajdárková, Jana ; Nevařil, Aleš (referee) ; Vlk, Zbyněk (advisor)
This thesis focuses on creation of two models of high-rise construction - beam and shell. A dynamic analysis is performed on these models. The selected program is RFEM software and the created high-rise construction is Hearst Tower skyscraper, which is interesting for its diagrid system around its perimeter. There is described process of creating both models and associated problems. Dynamic analysis is performed using standard EN 1998-1. There belongs calculations of sufficient number of modal shapes, spectral analysis and time analysis. Then the results are compared on selected point on the both models.
New town hall for the district Brno-North
Trpělková, Lena ; Hanusová, Lenka (referee) ; Mikulášek, David (advisor)
The building site is situated on the interesection of Třída Genrála Píky and Provazníkova streets in Brno. In the neighboring building there are commercial and administrative spaces. The main crossroad was redesigned to minimize the residual traffic areas. Based on urbanistic study we designed the corner high-rise dominant. We create a point of view at the skyline of Brno. By pushing back the volume we have a small square. Central comunication core allows transparent facade.
Design of the floor slab structure of a tall building
Vintrová, Tereza ; Šimůnek, Petr (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of the ceiling structure of a high-rise building. The basis for the work was a study of the building with basic floor plan dimensions and heights. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to design a locally supported floor slab with a stiffening core in the middle, as a section of one floor, namely the ceiling above the tenth floor. According to the specified study, a slab model was created in SCIA Engineer to analyze the internal forces based on which the design of the flexural reinforcement of the slab to the ultimate limit state was carried out. The design of the shear reinforcement is based on the internal forces of the 3D model and was done using Schöck Bole with manual verification of the selected column. Non-linear calculation of the 3D model and manual verification of crack widths was used to assess the ultimate limit state. At the end of the work, the design of the circumferential rib variant and the comparison of the two types of slabs was carried out. The work includes a static calculation and drawings.
Rescue of Persons during the Fires of Hight Buildings
Kulhánek, Jan ; Bíla, Jan (referee) ; Valášek, Rudolf (advisor)
Objective of this work is to process the research of fires in high-rise buildings in the Czech Republic in recent 10 years in terms of their effects, number of evacuated people and rescued persons by fire unites. It evaluates causes of injury and death during fires in high-rise buildings and reasons leading to the use of emergency sources by fire unites. It evaluates equipment in high-rise buildings from point of view of function of safety device against fire and equipment installed for intervention in high-rise buildings and it evaluates negative effects which affect the action of fire unites, especially in terms of evacuation and rescue. It analyses various ways to rescue people from point of view of possiblity using fire unites, the availability of life-saving equipment and the speed of rescue. It makes a design for involvement of forces and sources of other components of integrated rescue system to the process of human rescuing.
Prediction of foundation settlement of high-rise building using the finite element method
Červenka, Jan ; Dobrovolský, Ján (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The focus of this thesis is to deal with reverse engineering of high-rise building settlements. This is modeled via the finite element method performed in the Plaxis 3D program. In the first part of this thesis, a calibration of input parameters of an appropriate material model – Hardening soil – is conducted. This calibration is a result of oedometric test data which were obtained within a geotechnical survey. An influence of soils over consolidation affecting calibration and the material model choice is described. Final values of reference stiffness parameters are used in a mathematical model of the focused area. This model is created for one half of the high-rise building plan, including vestibule. The high-rise building is founded in a foundation pit. The foundations of this building consist of raft foundation and piles of jet grouting. In the model, there are also changes in pore pressure during an excavation of foundation pit included. The functional model is used for parametric analyses, namely examining cases of object´s foundations and the possible influence of foundation pit´s symmetry on the object´s settlement. All the calculated processes in the object´s settlements are then compared to data obtained from geotechnical monitoring of the structure.
"Centrum" Department Store in Brno
Ledvinková, Šárka ; Vaněk, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor)
The architectural design of the reconstruction of Centrum department store is trying to establish a link to Tomáš Baťa by the phenomenon of high-rise buildings, and architectural design. The renovated part is trying to re-establish the original appearance and dispositions. New high-rise portion of the building are leveraging current architectural trends continue the functionalist Karfíks ideas. The aim was to carefully distinguish between the new and the original part of the building for the present pleasant correspondence with the surrounding historicist facades. This was mostly achieved through inclined and curved shapes with which functionalism rarely worked. Operation in new part is provided by a vertical communication tube, whose facade is composed of a vertical garden, which should contribute to the improvement of living conditions in densely built-up city center. The building is located in the center of city there are high demands for its multipurpose use. Shops, services and catering operations are situated in the lower part of the building. In successive floors is office space, and then on the top floor there are duplex apartments. Automatic stacker parking for residents is placed under the communication tube.
Building of Current Railway Station in Brno
Kalvoda, Vít ; Tichomirov, Vladimír (referee) ; Myslín, Jiří (advisor) ; Novotný, Miloslav (advisor)
The present Bachelor´s thesis is based on the project carried out as an architectural design studio´s project of the 4th semester of Bachelor´s degree. The assigned task concerned a reconstruction of a historical building currently used as the main railway station of Brno city. The project deals with reconstruction and possible new uses of the building in case that a current railway station should be moved about 800 meters to the south (the new position of the railway station might be decided by the Ministry of transport of the Czech Republic depending on feasibility studies in near future). The project aims to show new possibilities of use for the historical building (after the railway station being moved) as well as to find an easier access to surrounding area for pedestrians coming from the city centre and heading to the South. So the project considers the demolition of the building wing nearest to the Post Office (building). In this way, a new passage for pedestrians could be opened at the same time a new optical connection would be created. On the part of the demolished wing ground plan a new high-rise building with a panoramatic terrace and commercial use would be erected. It would also serve as a landmark. Further the tower of the historical building, destroyed in the World War II. would be newly reconstructed. The old passage along the front of the west wing would be demolished and a new one build. Eventually the remains of the west wall would be reconstructed after demolition. Even if these extentions and changes are carried out in modern design, the historical values of the building and its genius loci would be respected. In the area of the former railyard, a park would be created which is desperately needed in this part of the city. The weelchair access is planed across the park heading from the city centre towards the bridge at the level of second floor of Tesco and NG Vaňkovka. There would be also a parking lot for about 700 cars below the park.
Smart District Špitalka
Sergeeva, Anna ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The proposed building is part of a complex of three buildings. The task was to create the dominants of the new territory, which would include functions corresponding to the concept of a smart neighborhood. The building has 19 floors above ground and two underground. The simple shape is complemented by the corrugated roof of the congress center and the curved atrium. The main entrance is towards the new city street, the main facade of the congress center faces the square. The dynamics of the shape of the high-rise building is supported by an irregular grid of windows, the combination of full masonry and leaky lighten the facade of the lower part.
